The announcement

We are very proud to announce our support for the Coach of the Year Award at this year's London Sport Awards.

The London Sport Awards is an opportunity to recognise outstanding coaching and development in grassroots physical activity and sport in London. These awards will bring together an array of dedicated coaches, volunteers, clubs and participants to celebrate their sporting achievements.

Coaches are at the heart of Sportplan and we relish any opportunity to commend them on their hard work, dedication and perseverance. At Sportplan we enable our users to coach with confidence as they inspire and shape the athletes of the future and we value the pivotal role coaches play within society.

Coaches bring so much more to their role than achieving results on a scoreboard, and for this we believe that coaches are the unsung heroes within the world of sport and physical activity and should be celebrated.

Without the efforts of coaches, it would be impossible for many to be physically active in a safe and enjoyable way, particularly in cities with limited open space. Coaches are outstanding role models who enable those of all ages, backgrounds and abilities to achieve their full potential.

We are passionate about sport and physical activity and commend London Sport on their initiatives to support coaches and volunteers, and their quest to get London more active.

The final shortlists for the Coach of the Year Award in association with Sportplan have been revealed and Paul Archer (activeNewham), Charlotte Evans (Sole2Soul) and Fionnuala Duhaney-Keown (Greenhouse Sports) are all vying to receive the desired award. Highly commended coaches include: Sunil Birdy, Marlan Henry and Adem Ali for their commitment to going above and beyond expectation in inspiring individuals to become more physically active.

As a company of sport enthusiastics who have always been involved in sport, we would like to take this opportunity to highly commend and personally thank every sports coach and volunteer who dedicate hours of blood, sweat and tears to their coaching.

Without you, sport wouldn't be where it is today.
